I am sure that many of you have wondered if we have fallen off the blogging wagon in recent weeks and months. Truth be told, we have had a crazy couple of months and are starting to catch our blogging breath since the school year is winding down.
The Easter bunny hit our house with some simple gifts and activities. All the kids got on a sugar high and Tracen scored in the baby food department.
Next I was off with the Gus girls for our semi annual Scrapbook weekend.(Even though no one really scrapbooks any more) We get together for a girls weekend that involves no hubbies, no calorie counting or kids, unless you are nursing.
So Tracen was one lucky boy to be able to attend. We had a fun time up in Park City, even though the weather was super cold. We missed my Mom with us this year as she was recovering from a shoulder surgery.
My sister Julie is our family hair dresser, and Tracen was in dire need for a professional hair cut! She did a great job and he looked like a totally different kid!
Over all we had a great time and can't wait for another sister's trip to come in 2010
Our next adventure was Tommy got his tonsils out! He has been sick almost the whole winter and missed a ton of school. At our last Parent teacher conf, I was worried that he might have to repeat Kindergarten, but he passed with flying colors.
Jeff gave him a special ride into the hospital where we ended up having to wait an extra two hours before surgery. There was an emergency surgery before us which put us back on our time.
Tommy was a real trooper and kept asking can I go home yet?
He did enjoy all of the Popsicles and ice cream at the hospital and was pumped to have a freezer full of creamies/ cold treats at home.
He recovered really quickly and was hardly down for a day or so. The other kids have been out of it for a week or more on the couch. He really liked missing school for a week and having Popsicles for breakfast.
When it was time for him to return to school, he was like...Why do I have to go back to school? It is such a waste of my time! We laughed and said, oh honey you only have 12 more years of school, so you better get use to it.
Since our family is so involved in sporting activities, I try and make it a point to throw in a cultural activity now and again to make sure we are trying to raise well rounded kids. The local high school was performing the musical "Grease", which is one of my favorites. Our friend and neighbor Jordan Conrad was in one of the lead roles as a "T-Bird" and I thought it would be fun for the boys to see him in action. It was a fun production for me and the boys, Jeff stayed home with Tracen and Tommy as he can't stand musicals. He says it is like nails on a chalk board for him, but that is OK because that is how I feel about golf and baseball.
Tracen turned 7 months old in April and loves to try and be a "Big Boy" on his toys. I can't believe how much he can do. He is not really crawling, but more "rolling" where he wants to go. Over all it had been a very busy month of activities and we haven't really talked about all the soccer games that happened in April. (All the soccer pictures are coming in May. Just wait!) So here is to a happy healthy family that was just over scheduled with life:)
