Hey it is only the 15th and I am not as behind as last month! This is an improvement!
This month was filled with end of year programs, gymnastic reviews, soccer and Tommy's birthday.
Just a warning this is might seam like a picture overload of our marvelous May, but this is a brief view of our month and I am only sharing a snap shot of all the pictures I took.
Soccer, Soccer, Soccer the month was all about that sport where you chase the black and white ball. The kids played in the rain, shine, snow and sleet. This was one of the coldest seasons I can remember!
Many of the games got a little intense. Tucker had to wear special type of goggles to help protect his glasses, as he got nailed in the face the very first game!
Tucker and Tommy played for the local rec-teams and had great fun showing off their trophies.
Tanner and Tate played on competitive traveling teams for U-14 "The Pride" and U-10 " The Storm". They traveled all over the valley and into Idaho. Some weeks we were driving up to Idaho several times a week for the different teams. I think I could make that drive with my eyes closed!
Tanner played the forward position most of the season, and Tate played all over including goalie/keeper.
One night while making the long drive home, we saw a sign for a return missionary and just had to take a picture of it with "our" Tate.
We are glad to be done with soccer and are taking a needed break as football seams to be just around the corner!
Next was Mother's Day weekend. It was the first time we got to see our new little cousin Kaleb. Jeff's sister Sherlene and her hubby Micah had the little guy a few weeks back, but that was the first time we got to see a peek of him.
We celebrated Mother's Day with a quick stop to Jeff's Mom and then for the big Gus gathering.

Jeff asked what I wanted for Mother's Day, and this picture popped into my mind. I saw it at Christmas time, and just fell in love with the four little boys all dressed up like future missionaries. Having all boys, this painting pulled at my heart strings how time really does fly by so fast. Tanner will be 15 in a few months and then we only have 4 more years until mission time! The painting that I saw at Christmas was way out of my budget, but I found the print and mat for only 10% of the price of the painting. So I was thrilled to get it along with all the little homemade treasures the boys made for Mother's Day. What a great day.
This summer the youth in our ward will be going on "Trek", where they re-enact the pioneers coming across the plains with their hand carts. So the Primary kids did their own little Trek. In this photo Tate is in the back row, Tommy, Tucker & Grandpa Gus are on the front row. Also our good friends the Conrads( AnnMaree, Garett, & Mason) are also in this fun photo.
Did you get a tax refund this year? Did you go on a fun trip? Well, we did get a little money back and decided to buy this new toy! Yes a rebuilt old tractor is our new toy to try and tame the land we live on. Out here in the boonies it is more of a necessity rather than a toy. Now we can dig ourselves out of the next big snow storm, that might be coming. It might even be this next week, with this weird spring weather!
It seams like it takes a wedding or death to get Jeff's half siblings & extended family together, and so we were excited that it was a wedding!

Next on the calendar was Tommy's birthday! The cute kid changed his mind daily on what activity he want to do!
We finally ended up at the local bowling alley for a family/friend birthday. They got to bowl a few games and have pizza while rocking out to some fun juke-box tunes.
The day really wiped out Tracen with all the fun activities.

The end of school was finally upon us! I don't know who was more excited.. me or the kids! Just to have a few days to sleep in, homework and deadline free sounded like heaven.
Overall we felt pretty good about the past school year. Yes, there were areas we could of all done a little better. But, hey we got through it! Really the kids did great,(honor rolls/ high test scores/ etc.) Tanner even had a 4.0 the whole year, until the last month in one class he got an A-. I think it was the mom who was struggling this year.
A big thanks to all the boys teachers for making the year a success! We enjoyed all the programs and awards ceremonies that the end of year brings. So hats off for no one having to repeat a grade we are pumped! Here's to starting the whole thing again in a few months!
