Our local elementary school has a race called the "Turkey Trot" every year around Thanksgiving. Each grade takes turns during the school day to run a mile race. The first place boy and girl in each grade wins a turkey, second place wins a pumpkin pie, and third a little prize. Then this year they had a random drawing of bags of cereal for any child who participated. It has been a pretty big deal around our house as Tanner won a turkey a few years back for coming in first.
Tate has been giving it his all, and last year came in third place. This year he moved up a spot and won second place and the pumpkin pie! We were so excited for him as he has some really tough competition in his grade. He said Mom every year I seem to move up a spot, so maybe next year I will take first! We are just so proud of him and all the boys for giving their best efforts.
Tommy was one of the lucky winners for the random drawing of the bags of cereal! So we were way excited to have two winners out of 640 students at our school!
