Preston 2009

Every year we make the family pilgrimage up to the Cub River area, near Preston ID for the big rodeo and parade. It is almost a week long event for us, camping by the river and hitting all the events. Jeff's Dad was raised in that area with his 13 siblings, so in a sense there is a lot of family history that goes along with the trip.

The three night parade is one of the highlights of the trip. Each night there is more candy and goodies thrown to the crowds of people. We have to stake out our side of the road in the blazing hot sun earlier in the week. One year I suggested that we actually sit in the shade, but the kids only got half the candy, so I have been vetoed for life on where we sit. It is tradition to now sit in the same spot, and I bring a really big unbrella.

My sister Jennie and hubby Ryan own some property up on the cub river, so they have been nice enought to let us camp out during this time of year. It is always very relaxing near the river, and fun to spend time with them and the other side of the family.

This trip was also a time to spend more times with cousins, play cards, do art projects and just relax.

There is also the carvival rides and rodeo that are part of the weeks activities. The kids enjoy using their set amount of tickets for the cheap night of rides. Hey it is not Lagoon, but more in our budget range this year.

Tommy and Tucker loved cooling off in the sprinklers! SO over all a fun summer trip.

Sounds like fun Annissa. My mom actually grew up in Preston too. So I grew up spending many summers at the Preston Carnival, Parade & Rodeo. Good Times!

That looks like lots of fun. I can't believe that Tanner looks like a young man! Crazy! He was such a good helper with Aidan at the last get-together. He'll help you so much when your new little one comes.
