The Big Day

We are very lucky in this economy to have Jeff have a pretty secure job for the past 20 years. For those who don't know, he works at a Waste Water Treatment plant as an operator. So as long as you, continue to flush, we should have a job! HA HA

The whole reason for our trip was for Jeff to participate in the Operators Challenge that is held during the yearly convention. They choose four employees and a coach to represent each plant in the state. The challenge is set up as four different mock situations where the team is timed on how fast they solve the problem.

The team has been practicing for the past couple of months, with some great success. It gets pretty competitive amongst the teams as there are 1st-3rd places to claim in each event, an over all winner, and of course bragging rights for the year.

When the competition was all wrapped up, they had a special dinner/BBQ for the families of the operators. It was a great spread with all the fixings. Over all I think the team did pretty well, but we had to wait until the awards dinner later in the week to see where they placed. Since the night was still young we hit the discount theater, to see "Bedtime Stories". That is my new favorite kids show, hopefully the Easter Bunny will bring it to our house once it is on DVD.

We'll do our best to keep flushing. Oh wait, our sewage out here probably won't help you out in Utah. Hope all went well at the convention.
